How To: Create an EPOS User


Creating an EPOS User

  1. Open a System Data screen (show me how).
  2. Double-click on [ Others | Users ].
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Press F3 or click the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right to add a new item.
  5. Enter the following details:
    1. An appropriate User name.
    2. The required Sales Source. For more information please see How To: Create and Apply a EPOS Sales Source to the EPOS Customer.
  6. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.

Add User Permissions

  1. Focus on the EPOS user created above.
  2. Right-click and select User Permissions from the Context Menu.
  3. Set the following permissions as required:
    1. Supplier:
      1. Tick the Open checkbox.
    2. System:
      1. Tick the No auto-logoff checkbox.
      2. Tick the EPOS Admin checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator. This is required if the user will be processing returns or exchanges, using the EPOS End of Day Process Orders and adding % discounts to the whole order.
    3. Customer and Sales:
      1. Tick the Open checkbox.
      2. Tick the New checkbox.
      3. Tick the Edit checkbox.
    4. Promotions:
      1. Tick the Open checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator.
    5. Customer Ret:
      1. Tick the New checkbox.
        Note: to be used in conjunction with the Till/EPOS Administrator. This is required if the user will be processing returns or exchanges.
    6. Sales Invoice:
      1. Tick the Open checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator.
      2. Tick the Issue checkbox.
    7. Stock:
      1. Tick the Open checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator.
    8. System Data:
      1. Tick the Open checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator.
    9. Special:
      1. Tick the Auth card checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator.
      2. Tick the Refunds checkbox.
        Note: only for the Till/EPOS Administrator.
  4. Enter a unique EPOS sign-on code.
    Note: this password must be greater than four numbers / characters long with no sequence equal to or less than five.
  5. Click OK to apply the permissions.
