How To: Delete a User Defined Attribute


You need to be an Admin User or have permission to edit UDA's in [ System Data | User Permissions ], to setup and edit Stock UDA's


Both Stock and Customer UDAs can be deleted, however it is wise to ensure that the UDA is not attached to either a stock item or customer record before deleting it.

Delete a Stock UDA

  1. In the [ Stock ] screen, load a stock item (it doesn't matter which one).
  2. Display the drop-down 'Other Actions' menu either by pressing F9 or clicking the down arrow immediately to the right of the green circle with a white cross icon at the top of the button bar.
  3. Select 'User Defined Attributes (UDA)'.
  4. The User Defined Attributes (UDA) dialog box will open.
  5. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  6. Focus on the UDA or green select the UDAs you wish to delete.
  7. Click on the the DELETE ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right and overlaid with a red cross. button
  8. In the Confirm popup click on Yes.
  9. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.
  10. If there are records with the UDA attached, a message will appear; select as appropriate:

  11. Click on OK to close the dialog.

Delete a Customer UDA

  1. Open a Customer screen (show me how).
  2. Display the drop-down 'Other Actions' menu either by pressing F9 or clicking the down arrow immediately to the right of the green circle with a white cross icon at the top of the button bar.
  3. Select User Defined Attributes (UDA) from the menu.
  4. From the Customer Lookup dialog box choose a customer (it does not matter who it is).
  5. The User Defined Attributes (UDA) dialog box will open.
  6. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  7. Focus on the UDA to delete.
  8. Click on the the DELETE ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right and overlaid with a red cross. button.
  9. In the Confirm popup click on Yes.
