How To: Review Items Excluded from a VAT Return

Reviewing Items Excluded from a VAT Return is an Advanced User feature.
Please ensure that you read and understand the following instructions before reviewing your VAT Return. Once a return has been committed, it cannot be amended in any way.

Overview

Whilst completing your VAT Return, it is possible to exclude (and include) transactions, see How To: Exclude Items from a VAT Return. If you wish to review excluded transactions and / or include them in your VAT Return prior to committing it, you may use one of the following options:

View Excluded Items

  1. Start the VAT Return process, see How To: Process a VAT return.
  2. Click on the Advanced radio button.
  3. Ensure the Show All checkbox is ticked.
  4. Click on the Go button. Excluded transactions will be displayed with a purple background.
    Note: Untick the Show All checkbox to hide the purple items, which makes comparing the grid totals with the VAT Return form possible.

Include Items that have been Excluded - by selection

  1. Start the VAT Return process, see How To: Process a VAT return.
  2. Click on the Advanced radio button.
  3. Ensure the Show All checkbox is ticked.
  4. Click on the Go button.
  5. Green select the lines.
    Note: it maybe quicker to green select all lines using Ctrl+A.
  6. Right-click and select [ Include Selected Items ].
  7. The selected lines will be included in the return and will no longer have a purple background on the grid.
  8. Continue the VAT Return process, see How To: Process a VAT return.

Include Items that have been Excluded - by date

  1. Start the VAT Return process, see How To: Process a VAT return.
  2. Click on the Advanced radio button.
  3. Ensure the Show All checkbox is ticked.
  4. Click on the Go button.
  5. Right-click and select [ Items By Date ].
  6. Specify the date(s) on which transactions are to be included and click Ok.
  7. The relevant lines will be included in the return and will no longer have a purple background on the grid.
  8. Continue the VAT Return process, see How To: Process a VAT return.
