Linking Related Stock Items

What is linking Stock Items on a Sales Order?

Linking related stock items groups them together on a sales order and adds a colour background, yellow or light blue, to the first column in sales orders indicating that the individual stock items belong together. This automatically happens when Packs or Up / Cross Sell items are added to a sales order, however a user can do this manually.

Note: Linking related stock items does not work if the Sort sales order by order of entry in [ System Operations | Edit System Values | Options | Order Display ] tab is ticked.

What are the Benefits of Linking Stock Items?

Linking the stock items in a sales order will group related items together, this grouping is how the items will be displayed in the Picking/Despatch Note and the Sales Invoice. This maybe useful when you wish stock items to be picked and packed as a group.

Where is the option to Link Related Stock Items

The option 'Actions - Relate Items: Link' which links related stock items is found on the context menu in a sales order in edit mode.
