System Data Stock Location Type

This is only used if warehousing functionality has been switched on for the system. This screen contains a list of location types and corresponding picking / put away types. If the warehouse is being used then picking needs to be enabled in the sales invoice manager.

Stock Location Type Grid

  • Stock Location: is where the name of the warehouse location is defined by the user.
    • Mandatory Stock Locations
      • ARRIVALS: this stock location type must be set up to allow stock to be booked into the system without a specific location to be accounted for within the warehouse. In practice this actual location would be a drop-off area / pre-put away area within the warehouse.
      • CRETURN: this stock location type must be set up to allow stock to be returned from a customer. The following options must be enabled before they are available to use, please email Support:
        1. The CRETURN location can be used with sites with the CRETURN location in the site against which the items are being returned to, for example If the site against a return is Head Office then this option will have the system check Head Office for a CRETURN location.
        2. The system can use the CRETURN location to pick from. If this is enabled then the TType must be set to Primary Pick.
  • TType: this is where the System Pick[1] and Put-away priority[2] are defined.
  • Capacity: if defined then this is the physical capacity of this type of stock location. There are two areas to consider when defining a capacity:
    1. If you do not want to be limited to a specific quantity, then do not specify a quantity. The disadvantage to this is that this location can never be considered for replenishment by the report within Khaos Control (a replenishment percentage of zero is null and not considered).
    2. Is the location going to be a single or multi-stock location?
      • If the location is going predominately to be a single location, then the capacity could be trusted as it will be consistent with how many items you can fit in that location.
      • If the location is going predominately to be a multi-location, then the capacity may not be trusted (as it may consist of items of large differences in size). For example, if both "Memory Pens" and "PCs" are used to populate the location, then a capacity of 10 is meaningless as one PC could fill the same space as hundreds of memory pens.
  • Replen %: this is the trigger percentage calculated using the capacity. If the stock level as a percentage of the capacity drops below the replenishment percentage, then the location will be considered for replenishment.
  • Safe %: this is set up in a similar way that a 'safe' level would be set up for a stock item - locations with stock levels below safe will be highlighted in yellow on warehouse screens.
  • Min %: this is set up in a similar way that a 'min' level would be set up for a stock item - locations with stock levels below safe will be highlighted in red on warehouse screens.

Location Type Grid Context Menu

  • Apply Value Range: allows the user to specify a value that is to be applied to all of the currently selected rows/items for the current column.
  • Clear Selection: deselects the currently selected line(s).
