How To: Create a New Continuity Subscription

This How To explains how to create a new continuity subscription. These allow new customers join at a specified item on the list and the shipment dates remain as originally generated. This could be for a set of items where issues are specific to dates, such as monthly magazines or wines of the month. As shipment dates are not recalculated, this could be used either to specify older items to catch up on back issues, or to specify future items and start shipments at the future date.
Note: If a future shipment is selected as a start point, the shipments would start on the date originally specified in the subscription.

  1. Open the Scheduled Shipments Screen and click on the Subscriptions tab.
  2. Press Ctrl+N or click the New item icon is the button bar's NEW button to create a new Subscription.
  3. Enter the following subscription details:
    1. Code: a code of your choice.
    2. Description: a suitable description.
    3. Type: set to 'Continuity'.
    4. Day Of: the required shipment day of the month if based on months.
    5. Interval: the shipment interval.
    6. Base Date: the date after which the first item will be shipped.
    7. Credit Limit: shipments will stay in the queue if a customer is over this limit.
  4. Set the rest of the options as required:
    1. Stop Structured Pricing: when ticked, sets the Stop Structured Pricing checkbox to ticked in the Sales Order.
    2. Override Shipments: enables the up/down arrows to allow the order of the shipments to be changed.
    3. Continuous: sets the shipment status after all items have shipped.
      1. Unticked: the Shipment Active Checkbox will be unticked.
      2. Ticked: the Shipment Active checkbox will be ticked and any added items will ship.
    4. Apply Keycode: the keycode to be applied to generated sales orders.
    5. Invoice Priority: the priority to be applied to generated sales orders.
  5. Add the subscription items to be shipped:
    1. Press F3 or click the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right to add a new item.
    2. Enter the prices of the items into the Price column in the grid.
  6. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save the Subscription.
