How To: Review Channel Orders that have Failed to Import

Channel Listings is an Advanced User feature.

Sales orders from eBay, Amazon etc. are converted into Khaos Control's standard XML order import format before being imported into the system. If an order fails to import, for example, the customer details in the file are incomplete, then Khaos Control flags this up in two places:

  1. The Failed Order Count in the [ Stock | Channel Listings | Listings ] screen.
  2. The (Failed)Channel XML Order Import files dialog.

Review Channel Orders that have Failed to Import

  1. Open a Web Configuration screen (show me how).
  2. Open the [ Stock | Channel Listings | Listings ] screen.
  3. Check the Failed Order XML panel: Channel XML Order Import Files dialog
  4. If greater than 0, double click and the (Failed)Channel XML Order Import files dialog will be displayed.
  5. Double click on each line in the grid in order to view the Channel Debug Log dialog for the order in question and review the error(s) that have prevented the order from importing.
  6. Close the Channel Debug Log and (Failed)Channel XML Order Import files dialogs once you have isolated the issues.

Fixing Channel Orders that have Failed to Import

If you are unable to download an amended file from the original Channel, the file will have to be amended manually. To do this:

  1. Open a Web Configuration screen (show me how).
  2. Open the [ Stock | Channel Listings | Listings ] screen.
  3. Double click on the Failed Order XML panel and the (Failed) Channel XML Order Import files dialog will be displayed.
  4. Open the file documented in the 'Import File' column for the order in a text editor (i.e. Notepad) and amend the relevant section. Please email Support if you have any queries or questions about this step of the process.
  5. Save the XML file with an updated file name and archive the original failed file.
  6. Import the file(s) as per the process outlined in How To: Import Sales Orders.
    Note: if sales orders are imported using this method then the option Import Override Stock Description in the [ Stock | Channel Setup ] screen is ignored resulting the the stock description on the channel used in the imported orders rather than the description in Khaos Control. There is an option to ensure that the stock description in Khaos Control is used, please email Support.
