How To: See UK Date format in Windows 7

If you are seeing American / USA formatted dates (i.e. month-day-year) when running Khaos Control on a Microsoft Windows 7 client, it is possible that something was not configured correctly when Windows 7 was installed.

Take the following corrective action:
  1. Logout of Khaos Control.
  2. Open the Windows Control Panel and select the Clock, Language, and Region area.
  3. Select Region and Language to open the 'Region and Language' dialog box.
  4. Ensure you are on the 'Formats' tab.
  5. Set the date format to something other than "English (UK)".
  6. Press the "Apply" button
  7. Press "OK" to save and exit the dialog.
  8. Close Windows Control Panel.
  9. Reboot the computer.
  10. Reopen Windows Control Panel.
  11. Reopen the 'Region and Language' dialog and ensure you are on the 'Formats' tab.
  12. Reset the date format to "English (UK)"
  13. Press the "Apply" button
  14. Press "OK" to save and exit the dialog.
  15. Reboot the computer.
  16. Restart Khaos Control.
Experience shows it is not always necessary to reboot the computer in order for the changed date format to 'stick'.
