How To: Setup eBay Item Specifics

Training must be completed before using Channel Listings.

Channel Listings is an Advanced User feature.

eBay Item Specifics are defined against your listing, for some categories these are mandatory, see eBay - using item specifics for more details. They are designed to make it easier for customers to filter when searching for items. The type of item specific that can be setup include:

  • Brand
  • Size
  • Type
  • Colour
  • Style

  1. Open a Web Configuration screen (show me how).
  2. Open the [ Channel Listings | Listings ] screen.
  3. Find and double-click on the eBay listing to load the [ Channel Listings | Listing Details ] screen.
  4. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  5. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button above the Value Set grid.
  6. Select the eBay Item Specifics Value Set from the options in the drop down list.
  7. Click on OK.
  8. Focus on the 'eBay Item Specifics' Value Set option you added in the Value Set grid on the left.
  9. Focus in the Name column in the grid on the right.
  10. Right-click and select Define Value List from the options.
  11. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button.
  12. In the Name the name of the specific value you wish to define, for example Brand, Sole, Lining, theme, shape.
  13. In the Value field add the appropriate information for the option you added in the Name column.
  14. Click on OK to add the information into the grid.
  15. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save if not making any other changes.
