How To: Use the Auto-Fill Stock Location Codes


Warehouse Location Control is not enabled by default.
Training must be completed before using the warehouse functionality.

WARNING: Warehouse location Codes must be unique
  1. Open a Warehouse screen (show me how).
  2. Open the desired Warehouse by double clicking on it.
  3. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  4. Press F3 or click the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right to add a new item. To fully utilise this functionality you will need to add multiple lines.
  5. Green select all the location that require naming.
    1. Focus in the Code column and from the context menu choose the Auto-Fill... option.
    2. Input your code format adding a % to the represent the numerical sequence. e.g. A1% when padded to 3 numbers will become, A1001, A1002, A1003 and so on.
    3. Click on OK.
    4. Specify how many numbers they would like to pad the code to e.g if the 3 would give a sequence of 001, 002, 003, 004 and so on where the % located in the code.
    5. Click on OK.
  6. Use the same functionality to update the Description column.
    For example, using the Code A1_ for 12 iterations and the Description A1_%_PP for 12 iterations results in:

  7. To update the locations Type en masse:
    1. While the rows are still green selected, focus in the Type column, right-click and select Apply Value range.
    2. Select the correct picking type from the options.
    3. Click on OK.
  8. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save these locations.
