Sales Orders Notes Tab

For the Other Action Menu options (press F9 or the Other Actions Menu on the Button Bar) see Sales Orders Other Actions Menu.

The [ Sales Order | Notes ] tab allows users to enter notes against a specific sales order.

This tab consists of two areas with an associated drop-down list:

Note: the Sales Order Invoice note and Sales Order Delivery/Picking List note both support rich text (including Unicode symbols, emoji's and foreign characters).

The sales order grid is common to all sales order detail tabs.

Delivery Notes / Picking List Note

Any text that populates the Delivery Notes / Picking List Note Display area will populate the Notes / Special Instructions box at the bottom of a Single or Batch printed Pick Notes. Users with Basic or Standard reports setup for this stage might not see these notes or they might be displayed in a different area on the pick sheet.

Notes can be entered directly in the Delivery Notes / Picking List Note Display area and would be unique to this order or they can be automatically entered when set up in the following locations:

  1. Picking / Despatch Note Type in [ Relationship Management | Default Notes ]. These notes will be displayed on all Sales Order picking sheets automatically. Please see Picking List Notes Dropdown for further options. Active and date valid default notes will populate the display grid automatically. See How To: Create Default Notes.
  2. Delivery Note / Picking Note in [ Customer | Details | CRM | Free Text Notes ]. Notes entered in this field will only be displayed for this customer, see How To: Enter Customer Specific Notes.
  3. Invoice Priority notes setup in [ System Data | Invoice Priorities ], see How To: Apply an Invoice Priority to a Sales Order. These will be appended to the sales order once it has been saved.

Picking List Notes Dropdown

The Picking List Notes Dropdown gives the user a list of all default notes that can be used for Delivery Note / Picking Note field. Only one can be selected and it will overwrite any text that currently occupies the Display Grid although free text can be added afterwards.

Invoice Note

Any text that populates the Display Grid will populate the Notes / Special Instructions box at the bottom of the Invoice. Users with Basic or Standard reports setup for this stage might not see these notes or they might be displayed in a different area on Invoice sheet.

Context Menu for Delivery Notes / Picking List and Invoice Note Areas

  • Undo: undo the last change.
  • Cut: cut any selected text from the display grid to the system clipboard.
  • Copy: copy any selected text from the display grid to the system clipboard.
  • Paste: pastes any cut or copied text from the clipboard into display grid.
  • Delete: deletes all selected text from the display grid.
  • Select All: selects all text in the display grid you are currently focused in.
