How To: Assign different nominal accounts to nodes
Table Of Contents
Introduction
Nodes are used to group nominal accounts into a reporting structure, making it easier to organise and analyse financial information.
This article explains how to add nominal accounts to existing nodes within your node hierarchy.
Prerequisites
Before assigning nominal accounts to nodes, you must first create the required node structure.
For instructions, see How To: Create Nodes.
Assign Nominal Accounts to a Node
- Set up your node structure as described in How To: Create Nodes.
- In the nominal accounts grid, highlight the nominal accounts you want to assign to a node.
- Drag and drop the selected nominal accounts onto the required node in the node tree.
- Repeat this process for any additional nodes and nominal accounts as required.
Result
The selected nominal accounts are assigned to the chosen nodes and become part of your reporting structure.
Additional Information
Node Rules
- Nodes can only be added to the final sub-folder within a branch of the node tree.
- A nominal account can only belong to one node at a time.
- If a nominal account is moved to another node, it will no longer be associated with its previous node.
Identifying Assigned Nominals
Nominal accounts that have been assigned to a node are displayed in light green within the nominal accounts grid.
This provides a quick visual indication of which nominals have already been mapped to the node structure.
