How To: Print the Balance Sheet Monthly

Introduction
Khaos Control allows you to view and print Balance Sheet information for previous months within the current financial year.
By selecting an Until Month, the Balance Sheet includes data from the start of the current financial year up to and including the selected month. This makes it useful for reviewing financial performance at different points throughout the year.
Important: This method is only available for the current financial year and cannot be used to report on previous financial years.
Run a Balance Sheet for a Previous Month
- Open an Accounts screen (show me how).
- Open the [ Balance Sheet ] tab.
- Configure the filters at the top of the screen:
- Set the Year Ending traffic light filter to the current financial year.
- In the Only applicable to current year section, select the required Until Month.Note: The selected month includes all data from earlier months within the same financial year.
- Tick Exclude transactions from previous years if you want to remove any historical transactions from prior financial years.
- Click Go to generate the Balance Sheet.
- The results will be displayed in the grid below.
Export or Print the Results
Once the Balance Sheet is displayed:
- Right-click anywhere within the grid.
- Select Send to Notepad.
- Choose the formatting options required.
- Save or print the exported information as needed.
Example
If your current financial year runs from January to December:
- Selecting March in the Until Month field will display data from:
- January
- February
- March
- Selecting September will display data from:
- January through to September
This provides a year-to-date view up to the selected month.
Tips
- Use the Exclude transactions from previous years option when reviewing current-year performance only.
- Verify the selected financial year before running the report.
- Export the data to Notepad if you need to share the information or perform additional analysis outside Khaos Control.
- Use this report regularly throughout the year to monitor changes in assets, liabilities and retained earnings.
