How To: Setup Supplier Feeds

Supplier Feeds allow Khaos Control to import supplier stock information such as availability, pricing and lead times. Once configured, feeds can be imported manually or scheduled to run automatically.
Note: If you would like Supplier Feeds to import automatically, please contact Support to discuss the available options.
Before You Start
Before creating a Supplier Feed, obtain the supplier's feed information, including:
- File format (CSV or TSV)
- File location
- FTP connection details (if applicable)
- Column layout within the feed file
Create a Supplier Feed
- Enter: SF into the Command Window and press Enter.
- Press Ctrl+N or click New.
- Click Yes when prompted to create a new Supplier Feed.
- Use the Supplier Lookup window to select the supplier.
- Tick the Active checkbox.
Configure the File Format
- Select the appropriate file type:
- CSV for comma-separated files.
- TSV for tab-separated files.
Select the Feed Type
Choose how Khaos Control will access the supplier file.
Local Feed
Use this option when the file is stored locally or on a network location accessible from the Khaos Control server.
- Select Local as the Feed Type.
- Enter the Local File Path containing the supplier feed file.
FTP Feed
Use this option when the supplier provides a feed via an FTP server.
- Select FTP as the Feed Type.
- Enter the following details:
- Host
- Directory
- Filename
- Username
- Password
These settings allow Khaos Control to download the latest version of the feed before importing the data.
Map the Feed Columns
Enter the column numbers used within the supplier's file for:
- Stock Code
- Quantity
- Supplier Buy Price
- Lead Time
Tip: Check the supplier's feed specification carefully to ensure the column numbers match the correct fields.
Save and Schedule the Feed
Once the Supplier Feed has been configured:
- Save the feed configuration.
- Create a batch file to run the import.
- Schedule the batch file using Windows Task Scheduler as frequently as required.
Result
The Supplier Feed is now configured and ready to import supplier information into Khaos Control.
Depending on the feed data provided by the supplier, imports can update:
- Stock availability
- Supplier pricing
- Lead times
Additional Information
- Multiple Supplier Feeds can be configured, one for each supplier.
- Local feeds are useful when suppliers provide files by email or shared folder.
- FTP feeds are ideal for automated supplier updates.
- Automatic imports require additional configuration and should be discussed with Support.
- Always validate the imported data after the first import to confirm the feed mapping has been configured correctly.
