How To: View node information

Introduction

The Balance Tree provides a hierarchical view of your nominal account structure using the nodes you have created within Khaos Control.
It allows you to review balances grouped by node, making it easier to analyse financial information and understand how nominal accounts contribute to higher-level reporting categories.
The same node structure is also used within the Profit & Loss reporting screens.

View the Balance Tree

  1. Open an Accounts screen (show me how).
  2. The node structure is displayed on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Expand or collapse nodes as required to review the balances within each section.

Understanding the Balance Tree

The Balance Tree is displayed in a standard Windows-style tree structure.
This means you can:
  • Expand parent nodes to view sub-nodes.
  • Collapse nodes to simplify the view.
  • Review balances grouped into reporting categories.
  • Drill down into individual sections of your reporting structure.
For each node, Khaos Control displays:
  • Debit balances
  • Credit balances
This provides a quick overview of the financial activity associated with each reporting category.

  • Review node balances regularly to ensure nominal accounts have been assigned correctly.
