How To: Automatically replace one Keycode with another

In this scenario a new seasonal catalogue has been launched. When a customer phones up and quotes the old Keycode number, Khaos Control can substitute it with a new one so that they can take advantage of the most recent offers. There are two steps required; create the new Keycode and then create the Telesale Rule and link the Keycode to it.

Create the Keycode

This is the new keycode that we wish to apply.

1. Open a Promotion screen (show me how).
2. Select the Keycode from the [ Promotion | List ] screen.
3. Press Ctrl+N or click .
4. Enter a code and a name for the new keycode, for example ' TC3 Autumn - Track Autumn Catalogue'.
5. Select the associated price list from the 'Uses this Price List' dropdown.
6. Press Ctrl+S or click to save.

Create the Telesale Rule and link it to the Keycode

1. Open the [ Telesale Prompts ] tab.
2. Press Ctrl+N or click .
3. Name the telesale rule, for example 'Replace Sum Cat Code with Aut Cat Code'.
4. In the 'Keycode' dropdown, select the old Keycode you want to replace (the summer catalogue keycode).
5. In the 'Apply Keycode' dropdown, select the new keycode (the autumn catalogue keycode).
6. Press Ctrl+S or click to save.
   

Notes:

• As only one tracking keycode can be applied to an order, the last keycode selected will be the one used on the sales order.
