How To: Create a Free or Reduced Price stock item band

Use the Free or Reduced Prices feature to offer promotional items at a special price, apply additional discounts, or automatically add free items to qualifying orders. You can control when these items become available by setting order value ranges and defining how the promotion should behave.

Before You Begin

  1. Open the required Promotion screen using the guide: (show me how).

    Steps

    1. Select the required Keycode from the [ Promotion | List ] screen.
    2. Press Alt + E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
    3. Tick the Free or Reduced Prices Stock Items grid check box.
    4. Press F3 or click Add to create a new entry.
    5. Enter the details for the stock item band:
      • Order Value Low / High
        Define the order value range that qualifies for the special pricing. The promotion will only apply when the order value falls within this range.
      • Stock Code / Description
        Enter or select the stock item that the promotional pricing applies to.
      • Qty
        Enter the quantity to be automatically added to the order when the order value conditions are met and Auto Add is enabled.
      • Amount
        Enter the selling price for the item when the promotion applies. This can be set to 0.00 for a free item.
      • Order Value Discount
        Enter a specific discount percentage for this item if it differs from the standard promotion discount.
      • Auto Add
        Tick this option to automatically add the item to qualifying orders. When enabled, the item is added using the quantity entered in the grid whenever:
        • The order has the selected Keycode applied.
        • The order value falls within the specified range.
        If Auto Add is not selected, the promotional price is only applied when the item is manually added to the sales order.
        Example:
        To automatically add a free item to every qualifying sales order:
        • Set Order Value Low to 0.00.
        • Set Order Value High to 0.00.
        • Set Amount to 0.00.
        • Tick Auto Add.
    6. Press Ctrl + S or click Save to save your changes.

    Additional Information

    • Multiple free or reduced-price items can be added to the same promotion.
    • Different order value ranges can be configured to offer different promotional rewards.
    • Automatic item additions only occur when both the Keycode and order value conditions are met.
    • Setting the Amount to 0.00 allows you to include free promotional products as part of a campaign.
