Introduction

User Defined Attributes (UDAs) allow you to store additional information against stock records. If you need to apply the same UDA value to multiple stock items, you can use the bulk update feature to update all selected items at the same time.
This can save significant time when managing large numbers of products.
Important: The UDA must already exist before it can be added to stock items using the bulk update process.

Before You Start

Ensure the required UDA has already been created and configured within Khaos Control.

Steps

  1. Open a Stock screen. (Show me how)
  2. Open the [ Stock | List ] tab.
  3. Find and green-select the stock items that you want to update.
    Note: The UDA must already be set up before you can add it to stock items using this method.
  4. Right-click within the grid and select:
    Update Selected Stock Items > UDAs
  5. In the update window, select the required UDA from the grid.
  6. Choose the appropriate value or option on the right-hand side of the screen.
    Note: The available options depend on the type of UDA being used. Different UDA types may provide different input methods or selectable values.
  7. Click OK to apply the selected UDA value to all highlighted stock items.

What Happens Next?

Once the update is complete:
  • The selected UDA is added to all selected stock items.
  • The chosen UDA value is applied consistently across each record.
  • The stock records are updated without needing to edit each item individually.

Tips

  • Use filters in the Stock List to identify the items that require the update before making your selection.
  • Double-check the selected UDA value before confirming, especially when updating large numbers of stock items.
  • Consider testing the update on a small number of records first if you are making a significant change.

Bulk updating UDAs is an efficient way to maintain consistent product information across your stock records. It is particularly useful when introducing new product attributes, updating categorisation fields, or applying the same attribute value to groups of related products.
