How To: Check a Credit Card Payment status when rejected by the Credit Card Payment Provider
After creating a new Sales Order (How To: Create a New Sales Order) or making a change to an existing Sales Order (How To: View and Edit Existing Sales Orders)
You should:
- Go to
[ Sales Order | Details | Payment ]
tab. - Look at the upper Payment Grid.
- Note the colour; if it is red (any shade) then an problem has occurred. Select the Colour Legend option from the Context Menu to get more information.
- Focus on the red payment line and right click.
- Select the View Payment Details option from the Context Menu.
- Click the View Logs button.
The rejection or decline message will be displayed in the Transaction Desc, Short Ref and Long Ref fields
- Open and login to your Credit Card Payment provider software or web page.
- Search for the payment that has been flagged. Use the following information to find the payment:
- Payment Amount
- Payment Code
- Card Holder's Name
- Transaction ID
- Once you have found the payment, check whether it has been taken and what caused the issue (eg address does not match).
- If the payment HAS been taken:
- Return to Khaos Control.
- Click the button to mark the payment as accepted.
- Continue as normal with the order.
- If the payment has NOT been taken:
- Return to Khaos Control.
- Click the button to mark the payment as NOT been accepted.
- Contact the customer and seek an alternative payment method.
