How To: Create a discount or delivery band charge
- Open a Promotion screen
- Locate and load the Keycode against which the discount or delivery band charge will be applied.
- Press Alt+E or click to enter edit mode.
- Tick the 'Discounts & Delivery Charges' grid checkbox.
- Press F3 or click to add a new item.
- Enter the values for the band:
- Order Value:
- Low/High: sets a discount to apply only to orders with a value in the specified range.
- Order:
- Discount%: sets a percentage discount to apply to the whole order.
- Discount Amount: applies a monetary discount to the whole order.
- Amt Disc Enabled checkbox enables the monetary discount in the previous box.
Note: the monetary discount will override any pre-existing discounts and the Discount Additive checkbox will have no effect.
- Delivery:
- Net Amount: sets a net delivery amount to apply to the whole order.
- Order Value%: sets the delivery amount to be a percentage of the total order value including VAT.
- Active checkbox: needs to be ticked to make the delivery values take effect. This setting is used to denote that a user entered reduced value or free delivery charge should be applied. If this option is unticked then the delivery values entered within this screen will be ignored.
Notes:- The values can be used singularly for example free delivery when the keycode is added to an order, or cumulatively for example free delivery and 10% discount.
- Free or reduced price delivery is not supported when the Discount Code option is ticked (i.e. when creating alias keycodes).
- Order Value:
- Press Ctrl+S or click to save.
Note: users need to decide whether the discounts are additive via the checkbox on the right hand side of the screen.
