How To: Setup an Email Template to send Customers their Unique Alias Offer Code
Once you have setup your Alias Keycodes and automatically generated them, see How To: Automatically Generate Unique Alias Codes for Customers you need to let your customers know what their offer codes are so that they can use them. This can be an automated process if the Trigger Rule has been setup associated with the message template.
- Open an Email Manager screen .
- Click in the Message Templates radio button to display existing message templates.
- Press Ctrl+N or click .
- Add a template code in the Template Code.
- Add a template description in the Template Desc field.
- Select the Invoice from the Trigger Type drop-down.
- In the Options section tick as required:
- Enter the brand email address, if setup and using, in the Use Brand Email Address field.
- If you want to add an entry into the contact's Comm Log when the email has been sent then tick the Add to Comm Log when sent checkbox.
- Tick the HTML Format checkbox if the email is formatted using HTML.
- If not using the default from address then insert a replacement email address in the From field.
- Add a Subject for the email, for example Discount Code from the Best Company.
- Where you wish the discount code to appear in the email message body, you need to add the Generated Keycode Aliases tag $KEYCODE_ALIASES, see image below.
- Press Ctrl+S or click to save the Message Template.
Notes:
- You could add the $KEYCODE_ALIASES tag into your existing shipped emails, this example sends out an email with just the code on.
