Sales Orders Addresses Tab
Table Of Contents
The [ Sales Orders | Addresses ] tab controls where your order is delivered and where the invoice is sent. These addresses can be different, allowing you to ship goods to one location while invoicing another.
The tab is divided into four sections:
- Invoice Address
- Delivery Address
- Delivery Address Choices
- Courier Note
Tip: For information about the Other Actions menu, press F9 and see Sales Orders Other Actions Menu.
Note: The Sales Order Grid is common across all Sales Order detail tabs.
eBay Global Shipping Programme
If you use eBay's Global Shipping Programme (GSP) and a Ship To address has been imported with the order, an additional Ship To panel is displayed alongside the Delivery Address.
The panel is only visible when:
- GSP functionality is enabled.
- A Ship To address has been imported into the sales order.
If you do not want to use the imported Ship To address, untick Use Ship To Address.
Invoice Address
The invoice address and contact details entered here are used on all invoices generated from the sales order.
Invoice Contact
The Invoice Contact drop-down lists all contacts available for the customer and is sorted alphabetically.
Name Checkbox
The Name checkbox controls how names are printed on invoices and delivery-related documents.
When Ticked
- The invoice contact name is printed.
- The invoice company name is printed.
When Unticked
- Only the invoice contact name is printed.
- The company name is not printed.
Important Notes
- The exact behaviour may vary if your invoice or delivery note reports have been customised.
- When unticked, the company name will not appear on address labels printed from the Sales Invoice Manager.
- This setting is affected by the Show Name option in [ System Data | Company Classes ], which can prevent company names from printing on:
- Invoices
- Credit Notes
- Delivery Notes
Invoice Address
By default, the invoice address is populated from the address marked as the invoice address on the customer's [ Customer | Detail | Address ] tab.
You can replace it by dragging an address from the Delivery Address Choices section.
Tip: Contacts and addresses can be mixed and matched if required.
Note: To change the country, double-click the country code field.
Delivery Address
The delivery address and contact details entered here are used on all delivery documentation generated from the sales order.
Red Delivery Address Warning
If the Delivery Address title is displayed in red, another unissued sales order is using the same delivery address.
This warning is displayed because changing the address could update the customer record and affect future orders using that address.
Name Checkbox
This option controls how names appear on delivery documentation.
When Ticked
- Both the delivery contact and company name are printed on the delivery note.
- Only the company name appears on the sales invoice.
When Unticked
- Only the delivery contact is printed.
- The company name is not printed.
Important Notes
- Behaviour may differ if your reports have been customised.
- This setting can be affected by the Show Name option in [ System Data | Company Classes ].
Delivery Contact
The Delivery Contact drop-down contains all contacts available for the customer and is sorted alphabetically.
New Delivery Contact
The New Delivery Contact button opens the New Contact window.
Use this option to create a new contact for the currently selected delivery address.
You will be prompted to confirm that the new contact should be created against the selected address.
Delivery Address
The delivery address is populated as follows:
- If a delivery address exists against the customer record, it is used.
- If no delivery address exists, the invoice address is used.
You can replace the displayed address by dragging an address from the Delivery Address Choices section.
New Delivery Address
The New Delivery Address button allows you to create a new delivery address for the customer.

A secondary options button is available for both invoice and delivery addresses.
The following options may be displayed:

| O | Uses the Organisation name instead of the Company Name on supported reports, including invoices, despatch notes and picking tickets. |
| Ln | Stores the company's longitude, which can be exported in Company XML exports. |
| Lt | Stores the company's latitude, which can be exported in Company XML exports. |
Delivery Address Choices
This section displays all delivery addresses stored against the customer record.
You can:
- Drag an address from the list.
- Drop it onto the current Invoice Address.
- Drop it onto the current Delivery Address.
This provides a quick way to switch between saved customer addresses.
Courier Note
Courier Notes allow additional delivery instructions to be stored against a delivery address.
These notes are separate from standard delivery notes and are only used by courier integrations that support additional delivery instructions.
Examples might include:
- Leave with reception.
- Call before delivery.
- Deliver to loading bay entrance.
How Courier Notes Work
- Courier Notes are linked to the delivery address.
- Once saved, they are automatically added whenever that delivery address is used on future sales orders.
- If changes are required for a specific order, the Courier Note can be edited directly within the sales order.
