How To: Identify your site ID for EPOS Startup

The site_id is a hidden internal identifier used by Khaos Control to tell which site's data you are currently working on. By default, Khaos Control comes with just one site - "HQ". To see a list of hidden site_ids and the sites they relate to:
  1. Open a Data Query screen (show me how).
  2. Type the following into the text box (found towards the top centre of the screen):
    SELECT site_id, short_desc FROM site
  3. Press F5 or click the the 'Execute' button runs the data query entered into the text box button to run the query, which will list all the sites currently setup in the Khaos Control database. For example, "Main Site" might be 1 or "Newcastle Shop" might be 2.
  4. The lower grid will now display two columns:
    1. site_id: this is a number that Khaos Control uses to identify the site;
    2. short_desc: this is the site's description, as entered into System Data.

Once you have determined the relevant site_id where your EPOS terminal is to be located, use this value when setting the EPOSSITE startup parameters.
