How To: Setup a Telesale Rule
- Open a Promotion screen
- Open the
[ Telesale Rules ]
tab. - Press Ctrl+N or click .
- Type the Telesale Prompt title in the Short Description field.
- Type the relevant text in the Long Description field.
- Setting the telesales rule options:
- Company Class
- For a specific company class select this class from the drop down menu.
- For all customer classes select Unknown from the drop down menu.
- For more than one company class select Unknown from the drop down menu, move to the
[ Company Classes ]
tab and tick the Company Classes the Prompt is to apply to.
- Customer Type
- For a specific company type select this type from the drop down menu.
- For all customer types select Unknown from the drop down menu.
- For more than one company type select Unknown from the drop down menu, move to the
[ Company Types ]
tab and check the Company Types the Prompt is to apply to.
- Country
- To apply to the companies whose country (specified in their
[ Detail | Financial ]
screen) matches those set in the prompt, tick the relevant checkboxes in the[ Countries ]
sub-tab.
- To apply to the companies whose country (specified in their
- Currencies
- To apply to the companies whose currency (specified in their
[ Detail | Financial ]
screen) matches those set in the prompt, tick the relevant checkboxes in the[ Currencies ]
sub-tab.
- To apply to the companies whose currency (specified in their
- Keycode
- To affect sales orders with a specific keycode, select the keycode from the drop down list.
Note: the Keycode will need to have been already set up, see How To: Create a Basic Keycode.

- Brand
- The brand that can be used to trigger a prompt or action, see How To: Apply a Keycode offer based on a Brand.

- Order Value and Exclude Delivery
- To apply to orders with a minimum , enter the value.
- If the value is to exclude the delivery charge tick the Exclude Delivery checkbox.
- Order Weight
- To apply to orders with a minimum Order Weight, enter the weight.
- New Sales Orders Only
- To affect only new sales orders tick the Only affect new sales orders (not edited ones) checkbox.
- Active dates
- Enter the Start and End Date for the prompt or
- Tick the Always Active checkbox.
- Order Line Type
- History Items specify whether the Telesale Prompt should apply to history items.
- Special Offers specify whether the Telesale Prompt should apply to special offers.
- Apply a Keycode
- To offer the user the option to apply a keycode to an order select the keycode from the Apply Keycode drop down list.
Note: the Keycodes will need to have been already set up, see How To: Create a Basic Keycode.

- Options
- Prohibit saving order used to stop the sales order being saved, see How To: Stop Stock Items from being Sold.
- Trigger Items sub-tab lists the items that when added to a sales order will trigger the telesales prompt to appear. To add the items to the telesales prompt:
- Press F3 or click to add a new item.
- Select the stock item(s) and add them to the Trigger Items grid.
- Add the quantity of the stock item that will activate the prompt when added to the sales order in the Qty column.
- Trigger Types sub-tab lists the stock types that when stock items belonging to the stock type are added to a sales order a telesales prompt will appear. To add the stock types to the telesales prompt:
- Click on the Trigger Types sub-tab.
- Press F3 or click to add a new item.
- From the list select the stock type and click on OK.
- Add the quantity of stock items per stock type that will activate the prompt when added to the sales order in the Qty column.
- Company Class
- Press Ctrl+S or click to save the telesale rule.
Note: the options work in combination so if, for example, you have France and US Dollars ticked then the Prompt will only apply to customers whose address is set to France and currency set to US Dollars.
