Introduction

The SCS Element Stock Preset screen allows you to define the approved stock code values and descriptions that can be used for Size, Colour and Style (SCS) products.
When SCS Element Presets are configured, users can select from predefined values instead of entering free text. This helps ensure consistency across stock codes, descriptions and product setup.
Element captions are first created in the [ System Data | SCS Element Preset ] screen and can then be assigned stock code values and descriptions in this screen.

Prerequisite

Before SCS Element Stock Presets can be used, Restrict SCS Element Values must be enabled in:
If this option is not enabled, users will not be restricted to predefined SCS values.

How SCS Element Stock Presets Work

The setup process consists of two stages:
  1. Create the element captions in [ System Data | SCS Element Preset ].
  2. Create the allowable stock code values and descriptions in the SCS Element Stock Preset screen.

Element Caption

Displays the element name created in the [ System Data | SCS Element Preset ] screen.
Examples include:
  • Size
  • Colour
  • Style
  • Type
  • Width
  • Pack Size

Sk Code

Enter the code that will be used when generating the stock code.
This value appears in the SK column within the SCS dialog's Element grid.
Examples include:
  • S
  • M
  • BLK
  • BLU
  • FT
  • HD
Keeping stock codes short and consistent can help create meaningful stock codes across your product range.

Value

Enter the description that will be displayed to users and used when generating stock descriptions.
This value appears in the Value column within the SCS dialog's Element grid.
Examples include:
  • Small
  • Medium
  • Black
  • Blue
  • Feet
  • Hands
Use clear, descriptive values that make product identification simple and consistent.

SCS Element Stock Preset Context Menu

Apply Value Range

Use Apply Value Range to apply the same value to all selected records within the active column.

Clear Selection

Removes the selection from the currently highlighted row or rows.
