How To: Add an Image and Description for a Category

Introduction
Website Categories setup and maintenance is an Advanced User feature.
Category images and descriptions can be assigned to website categories to enhance the appearance and content of your website. These details can be used by your website to display category-specific imagery and descriptive content.
Important: Please speak to your website developers before making changes to website categories.
Prerequisite: Configuring and using Web Configuration requires HQ User permission.
Add a Category Image and Description
- Open the Web Configuration screen.For help opening the screen, see How To: Open the Website Categories Screen.
- Load the required website.
- Press Alt+E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
- Select the category you want to update.
- In the Category Image File Name field, enter the image file name to be used for the category (optional).
- In the Category Long Description field, enter the description you want displayed for the category (optional).
- Press Ctrl+S or click Save when you have finished.
Category Image File Name
The Category Image File Name field allows you to specify the image associated with the category.
Examples might include:
garden-furniture.jpgelectronics-banner.pngsummer-collection.webp
The image must be available to the website and named according to your website developer's requirements.
Category Long Description
The Category Long Description field can be used to provide additional information about the category.
Typical uses include:
- Category introductions.
- Marketing content.
- Product range summaries.
- Additional customer information.
Depending on your website design, this content may appear on category landing pages or category information sections.

Category images and descriptions help improve the customer browsing experience by providing visual and descriptive content for website categories.
Before making changes, ensure:
- Image file names match the files available on the website.
