How To: Manually Map Nominal Accounts when using Xero

Table Of Contents

If a nominal account has not been mapped automatically, you can manually create the link between your Khaos Control nominal account and the corresponding account in Xero.
This ensures transactions are posted to the correct nominal accounts when using the Xero Integration.

Before You Begin

Make sure:
  • The Xero Integration has been configured and connected.
  • The required nominal account exists in both Khaos Control and Xero.
  • You have permission to edit Xero Integration settings.

Manually Adding and Mapping a Nominal Account

  1. Open an Accounts screen (show me how).
  2. Press F9 or click the down arrow next to the toolbar button to open the Other Actions menu.
  3. Select Xero Integration from the Other Actions menu.
  4. Press Alt+E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
  5. Click New above the middle grid.
  6. Select the required Khaos Control nominal account from the pop-up list.
  7. Click OK.
The nominal account is added to a new row in the mapping grid.
  8. In the Xero nominal account column, press F4 or use the lookup button to select the corresponding Xero account.
  9. Verify the mapping is correct.
  1. Press Ctrl+S or click Save to save your changes.

What Happens Next?

Once saved, the selected Khaos Control nominal account is linked to the chosen Xero nominal account. Future transactions posted through the Xero Integration will use this mapping when exporting data.

Tips

  • Double-check that the Xero account selected matches the intended account type and purpose.
  • Review new nominal accounts regularly to ensure they have been mapped before exporting transactions.
  • If a nominal account is missing from the lookup list, confirm that it exists and is active within Xero.
