Add Quantity Break Discounts for a Customer and Stock Type
Use quantity break discounts to offer different pricing levels based on the quantity a customer purchases. This allows you to apply discounts or mark-up values for specific customers and stock types within a promotion.Before You Begin
Make sure you have already created or opened the promotion you want to update.Steps
- Open the required Promotion screen using the guide: (show me how).
- Select the Price Lists | Stock Type/Customer tab.
- Enable the lower grid by selecting the check box beneath the main grid.
- Click the lookup button above the lower grid and select the required customer.
- Choose the appropriate stock type from the drop-down list.
- Enter edit mode by pressing Alt + E or clicking Edit.
- Add a new entry by pressing F3 or clicking Add.
- Complete the required fields:
- Quantity Break Banding: Enter both the Low and High quantity values.
- Discounts: Enter either a discount amount or a discount percentage.
- Mark-Up %: Alternatively, enter a mark-up percentage based on the buy price.
- Repeat these steps if you need to add:
- Additional stock types for the same customer.
- Multiple quantity break bands for the same stock type.
- Save your changes by pressing Ctrl + S or clicking Save.
Additional Information
- Quantity break banding allows you to apply different pricing structures based on order quantity.
- You can use either discount values or a mark-up percentage, depending on how the promotion should be calculated.
- Ensure quantity bands do not overlap, as this may result in unexpected pricing behaviour.
