How To: Setup Free Delivery based on Customer Class
This is a three-step process:
- Create a "Free Delivery" keycode.
- Create a "Free Delivery" telesales prompt.
- Select the Company Class the offer will apply to.
Note: setting free delivery in this way stops Khaos Control from applying normal delivery charges. A delivery charge can still be added to the Sales Order by manually typing a value into the 'Delivery Charge' field on the Sales Order screen.
Create a "Free Delivery" Keycode
- Open a Promotion screen
- In the
[ Promotions ]
screen, select the Keycodes radio button. - Press Ctrl+N or click to create a new key code..
- Enter a Code, for example 'FREEDEL'.
- Enter a Description, for example 'Free Delivery'.
- Press the New Item button on the button bar to add a new line in the 'Discounts and Delivery Charges' grid.
- Set the values as:
- Low = 0
- High = 999999.99
- % = 0
- Net Delivery = 0.00
- Del Active = ticked
- Press Ctrl+S or click to save the keycode.
Create a "Free Delivery" Telesale Prompt
- Open a Promotion screen
- In the
[ Promotions ]
screen. select the Telesale Rules radio button. - Press Ctrl+N or click to create a new telesales rule..
- Enter a Short Description, for example 'Free Delivery'.
- Unless you want to apply this retrospectively when editing Sales Orders already in your system, tick the Only affect new sales orders (not edited ones) checkbox.
- Set the start and end dates or tick the 'Always Active' check box.
- Enter the prompt required to the right of the General area, for example 'Free delivery on this item'.
- Select the keycode you have setup for delivery (for example, FREEDEL - Free Delivery) from the Apply Keycode drop-down field.
Select the Customer Class
- Select the customer class in the Customer Class drop-down.
- Press Ctrl+S or click to save telesales prompt.
It is also possible to set free delivery on all items in a stock type by using the 'Trigger Types' tab to select the stock types.
