How To: Setup Unique Alias Offer Codes using Keycodes

Customers can have unique offer codes generated either manually or automatically for them. The codes are only usable by the customer they were created for.

  1. Open a Promotion screen (show me how).
  2. Press Ctrl+N or click the New item icon is the button bar's NEW button .
  3. Open the [ Key Code ] tab.
  4. Enter the new Keycode Code.
  5. Enter a Description.
  6. Tick the Discount Code checkbox.
  7. Configure the rest of the keycode as you would like, for example:
    • One Time (SO Only) checkbox.
    • Company Class.
    • Enter any discounts in the upper grid.
    • Add any free or reduced items in the lower grid.
  8. Move to the [ Aliases ] screen.
  9. Tick the Enable aliases checkbox.
  10. Enter the format for your discount codes, for example KC-###, KC-####-XX and KC10###000###, where # is replaced by randomly generated numbers. The examples will create codes such as , KC-4567, KC-1018-XX and KC1045780001234.
  11. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save when you're ready.

Notes:

  3. You can manually add discount codes for a customer or groups of customers too, see How To: Manually Generate Unique Alias Codes for Customers.
  4. Free or reduced price delivery is not currently supported when using alias keycodes.
