How To: Trigger a Telesale Rule by Stock Type

Telesales Prompts can be triggered when customers add products belonging to specific stock types to a sales order. This allows you to display messages, promote offers, apply keycodes, or trigger other telesales actions without having to maintain individual stock item lists.
Create a Telesales Prompt
- Open the Promotion screen (Show me how).
- Open the [ Telesale Prompts ] tab.
- Press Ctrl + N or click New.
- Enter a title for the prompt in the Short Description field.
- Enter the message you want users to see in the Long Description field.
Add Trigger Stock Types
Trigger Types determine which stock types will activate the telesales prompt.
- Open the Trigger Types sub-tab.
- Press F3 or click Add.
- Select the required stock type from the list and click OK.
- Enter the quantity required to trigger the prompt in the Qty column.For example, entering 2 means the prompt will only appear when two items belonging to that stock type have been added to the sales order.
- Repeat the process to add additional stock types if required.
Configure Additional Options
You can apply further restrictions and conditions to the telesales prompt, including:
- Customer Classes
- Customer Types
- Countries
- Currencies
- Keycodes
- Brands
- Order Values
- Order Weights
- Active Dates
- Trigger Items
- Promotional Actions

Save the Telesales Prompt
- Press Ctrl + S or click Save.
The telesales prompt will now trigger when the specified stock type conditions are met.
Important Information
Note: All telesales prompt conditions work together.
For example, if you select:
- France in the Countries settings; and
- US Dollars in the Currency settings
the prompt will only appear when both conditions are met. The customer must have their country set to France and their currency set to US Dollars for the prompt to be triggered.
