Promotion Price Lists: Weight Discounts
The [ Promotion | Price Lists | Weight Discounts ] screen allows you to create percentage-based discounts that apply when an order falls within a specified weight range. Discounts can be assigned to individual customers using their URN or to groups of customers using Customer Classifications.

Understanding Weight Discounts
Weight discounts are applied based on the total weight of the order rather than the weight of individual items. This allows you to reward customers who place larger orders by automatically applying a percentage discount when the order weight falls within a defined range.
Weight Discounts Tab
The grid on the Weight Discounts tab contains the following fields:
URN (F8)
Use F8 to select an individual customer who the weight discount will apply to.
Classification (F4)
Use F4 to select a Customer Classification. The discount will then apply to customers assigned to that classification.
Weight Start and Weight End
Define the weight range that must be met before the discount is applied.
- Weight Start is the minimum order weight.
- Weight End is the maximum order weight.
- By default, the range is set between 0 and 9999.
Only orders whose total weight falls within the specified range will qualify for the discount.
Discount %
Enter the percentage discount to apply when the order weight falls within the defined range.
Note: The weight range is based on the total weight of the entire order. If the order weight meets the specified range, the discount is applied even if no individual item falls within that weight range.
Weight Discounts Grid Context Menu
Right-click within the grid to access the following options:
Goto Company
Opens the selected customer's [ Customer | Detail | General ] screen.
Full Refresh
Reloads the screen directly from the database, ensuring the latest information is displayed rather than only refreshing local grid data.
Apply Value Range
Opens the Apply Value Range feature, allowing you to apply the same value to all selected rows in the current column.
Clear Selection
Removes the current row selection from the grid.
Additional Information
- Weight discounts can be assigned to specific customers or customer groups.
- Discounts are triggered by the total weight of the order.
- Multiple weight ranges can be configured to support different discount levels.
- Using Customer Classifications can simplify discount management when the same rules apply to multiple customers.
