How To: Set Price Breaks for a Stock Item Price List

Introduction

It is possible to set quantity price breaks on a price list. This How To covers how to do this on a Stock Item Price List, but the same principle applies to all of the Price List options in Khaos Control:

  • Stock Type Price List
  • Customer Stock Item Price List
  • Customer Stock Type Price List

Steps to add and set Price Breaks

  1. Open a Promotion screen (show me how).
  2. Select the [ Price Lists | Stock Item/Price List ] tab.
  3. Select the required price list from the drop-down list.
Note: if the Price List is not listed in the options you will need to create it in System Data before you can add stock items to it. See Creating a Price List below.
  4. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  5. Sort the grid by Stock Code and then Quantity Low by using Shift+Click on each column header in turn
  6. Press F3 or click the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right to add a new item. For price breaks you will need to add the same stock code as many times as you are intending to have price breaks for it.
  7. Enter the required information in the relevant columns:
    • Qty breaks Low/High: start and end quantities for the price break. Make sure that these do not overlap.
    • Set the price for the quantity break using the appropriate column. Generally this will be done by either specifying the Disc% or the Amount. However, you may also mark up the Buy Price.
  8. Repeat for more stock items if necessary.
  9. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.
