Quick Entry Dialog

Nominal accounts can be added quickly into the Journalling grid in the [ Accounts | Nominal Accounts | Nominal Accounts ] screen using the Quick Entry dialog, see How To: Quickly Add Nominal Accounts when Journaling.

Journal Quick Entry Dialog

The dialog consists of the buttons on the left and the grid.

Buttons

  • the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right : add a new entry to the grid.
  • the DELETE ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right and overlaid with a red cross. : remove the line currently focused on in the grid.

Quick Entry Grid

The grid consists of:

  • Code: the nominal code.
  • Debit and Credit: the amount either going into or out of the account.

Quick Entry Context Menu

  • Apply Value Range: allows the user to specify a value that is to be applied to all of the currently selected rows/items for the current column.
  • Clear Selection: deselects the currently selected line(s).

Notes

The Quick Journal Entry dialog shortcut keys are:

  • F3: adds a new line to the journal.
  • Ctrl+Del: deletes the line that the user is currently focused on.
  • Alt+O: button and adds the values to the journal grid like clicking on 'OK'.
