How To: Auto Assign Stock on Back Order

Use Assign Stock Item when there is enough available stock to fulfil the selected order line(s), or when you want to allocate all available stock to a specific item.
This is a quick way to reserve stock against back orders and make it available for processing.
Before You Begin
Open the Sales Invoice Manager screen using the guide: (show me how).
Steps
- Open the [ Back Order (Stock Assignment) ] tab.
- Use the available filters to display the orders or stock items you want to work with.
- Click Go to populate the grid.
- Green-select the stock item line or lines that require stock assignment.Note: Before assigning stock, check the Avail column to confirm there is sufficient stock available.
- Click Assign Stock Item.
- When the confirmation message appears, click Yes.
- Click OK on the information message to complete the assignment.
Result
The available stock is assigned to the selected order line(s), reducing the outstanding back order quantity and reserving the stock for those orders.
Additional Information
- This option is best used when enough stock is available to meet demand.
- Multiple order lines can be selected and assigned at the same time.
- The Avail column shows the quantity currently available for allocation.
- If there is insufficient stock available, consider alternative stock assignment options within the Back Order (Stock Assignment) screen.
