How To: Create a Stock Value Report

Introduction

Stock Value Reports help you analyse the value of stock held within Khaos Control.
Reports can be produced from either:
The Stock List reports show stock values as they exist at the moment the report is generated.

The Accounts | Stock Value reports allow you to view historical stock valuations and analyse stock movements over a specific date or date range.
Available Stock Value reports include:

Stock Value Report

The Stock Value Report provides a detailed valuation of individual stock items.

Generate a Stock Value Report

  1. Open a Stock screen.
  2. Go to the [ Stock | List ] tab.
  3. Apply any filters required, for example:
    • Supplier
    • Stock Type
    • Manufacturer
    • Category
  4. Right-click within the grid and select:
    Print > Stock Value Report
  5. Choose the report options by clicking the blue button next to each setting.

Available Options

Just report on items IN STOCK?

When enabled, the report only includes items currently holding stock.

Include OVERHEAD figure?

Includes overhead values within the stock valuation calculations.

Include COS EXCLUDE items?

Includes stock-controlled items that are marked as COS Excluded and do not post into stock nominal accounts.

Include System Warehouse (Quarantine, Returns)?

Includes stock held within system warehouses such as:
  • Quarantine
  • Returns
  1. Click OK.
  2. The Stock Value Report is displayed and can be:
    • Printed
    • Saved to file
    • Exported as required

Stock Type Value Report

The Stock Type Value Report summarises stock values by Level 2 Stock Type.

Generate a Stock Type Value Report

  1. Open a Stock screen.
  2. Go to the [ Stock | List ] tab.
  3. Apply any required filters.
  4. Right-click within the grid and select:
    Print > Stock Type Value Report...
  5. When prompted, choose one of the following options:

Yes

Report on all stock items.

No

Report on items currently in stock only.
  1. The report is generated and displayed.
  2. Print or save the report as required.

Accounts Stock Value Reports

The reports available within [ Accounts | Stock Value ] provide more detailed historical analysis than those available from the Stock screen.
Unlike the Stock List reports, these reports allow you to analyse stock values over specific dates and time periods.

Generate an Accounts Stock Value Report

  1. Open an Accounts screen.
  2. Select [ Accounts | Stock Value ].
  3. Open the required tab.

Historical Valuation

Displays stock valuation based on historical stock movements and values at a selected point in time.

Aged Analysis

Shows aged stock and net stock movements by ageing period.

Period Analysis

Displays stock movement activity during a selected period.

Site Stock

Displays stock movements and valuations across multiple sites or warehouses.
  1. Configure the required filters, such as:
    • Date
    • Date Range
    • Site
    • Warehouse
    • Stock Type
  2. Click Go to populate the grid.

Printing or Exporting Results

Once the report grid has been populated, you can output the information using either of the following options.

Send to Notepad

Allows you to:
  • Export all data.
  • Export selected records.
  • Save data to external files.
  • Import data into spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel.
Generates a printable report using the information currently displayed within the grid.

For the most accurate reporting, ensure stock transactions have been processed and updated before generating valuation reports.
