How To: Create a Website using Web Categories

 Website Categories setup and maintenance is an Advanced User feature.
Please speak to your website developers before using this feature.

Configuring and using Web Categories requires HQ User permission.


Add a New Website

  1. Open a Web Configuration screen (show me how).
  2. Click on the the New Website item icon button above the Category Tree pane on the left.
  3. In the New Website popup:
    1. Make sure the Channel is set to [ Standard Web ]
    2. Enter the name of the website in the lower field.
  4. Click on OK.
  5. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save or add categories to the website, see below.

Add a New Category

  1. Focus on the website node whilst still in Edit Mode.
  2. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button on the button bar.
  3. In the New Category popup enter a name for the category.
  4. Click on OK.
  5. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save or add further categories or sub-categories to the website.

Add Category Sub-Categories

  1. Focus on the parent category node whilst still in Edit Mode.
  2. Click on the the NEW ITEM button has an icon that shows two sheets of paper (identified by having the top right corner folded down), arranged diagonally on the icon from top left to bottom right button on the button bar.
  3. In the New Category popup enter a name for the sub-category.
  4. Click on OK.
  5. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save once finished adding sub-categories.
