How To: Create a Website using Web Categories

Introduction
Website Categories setup and maintenance is an Advanced User feature.
The Web Configuration screen allows you to create and maintain website structures, including websites, categories and sub-categories used by your web integration.
Important: Please speak to your website developers before making changes to your website structure.
Prerequisite: Configuring and maintaining Web Categories requires HQ User permission.
Add a New Website
- Open the Web Configuration screen.For help opening the screen, see How To: Open the Website Categories Screen.
- Click the Add Website button above the Category Tree pane on the left-hand side.
- In the New Website window:
- Ensure the Channel is set to [ Standard Web ].
- Enter the website name.
- Click OK.
- Either:
- Press Ctrl+S or click Save to save the website, or
- Continue creating categories before saving.
Add a New Category
Categories are created directly beneath a website.
- Ensure you are still in Edit Mode.
- Select the website node where the category should be created.
- Click the Add Category button on the toolbar.
- Enter a name for the category.
- Click OK.
- Either:
- Press Ctrl+S or click Save, or
- Continue creating additional categories or sub-categories.
Add a Sub-Category
Sub-categories allow you to organise products into a more structured hierarchy beneath a parent category.
- Ensure you are still in Edit Mode.
- Select the parent category.
- Click the Add Category button on the toolbar.
- Enter a name for the new sub-category.
- Click OK.
- Repeat the process for any additional sub-categories required.
- Press Ctrl+S or click Save once you have finished.
