How To: Create a Price Exceptions Report

The Price Exceptions Report helps you identify Sales Orders where items have been sold above or below their standard list price. This can be useful for reviewing discounts, monitoring pricing activity, and identifying unusual price variations.

Generate the Report

  1. Open a Sales Order screen (show me how).
  2. Open the Other Actions menu by:
    • Pressing F9, or
    • Clicking the drop-down arrow next to the green Add button on the button bar.
  3. Select Print.
  4. Select Price Exceptions.
  5. In the Price Exceptions window, specify the report criteria as required:
    • Date From – The start date of the reporting period.
    • Date To – The end date of the reporting period.
    • Percentage Above or Below List Price – The percentage variance from the standard list price that you want to include.
    • Only Show If the Amount Is Greater Than – Limits the report to entries where the value difference exceeds the amount entered.
  6. Click OK.
The report will be generated using the selected criteria.

Understanding the Results

The report highlights Sales Order lines where the selling price differs from the standard list price by the specified amount or percentage.
This can help you:
  • Review discounts that have been applied.
  • Identify products sold above list price.
  • Monitor pricing consistency across the business.
  • Investigate unusual pricing activity.

Tips

  • Use a narrow date range when investigating a specific period or promotion.
  • Increase the percentage threshold to focus on significant pricing differences.
  • Use the minimum amount filter to remove low-value exceptions and concentrate on larger discrepancies.
