How To: Create barcodes to login Users into the HHT

You can create barcodes for HHT users which allow them to log in by scanning a barcode rather than manually entering their credentials. This can make the login process quicker and help reduce input errors.
Important: The New HHT functionality is not enabled by default.
Training must be completed before using HHT2 functionality.

Prerequisites

Before creating login barcodes, ensure your HHT users have already been configured.
For guidance, see How To: Setup HHT Users.

Create the HHT Login Barcode

Important: Complete this process in your Test system, not your Live system.
  1. Open your Test Khaos Control system.
  2. Open a Stock screen (show me how).
  3. Create a new stock item.
  4. In the Stock Code field, enter the user's initials.
  5. In the Other Ref field, enter the user's HHT password.
  6. In the Description field, enter the user's name.
  7. Select an appropriate Level 2 Stock Type.
  8. If you want to add a photograph of the user, open the [ Telesales/Internet Primary ] screen.
  9. Add the image.
  10. Save the record.
  1. Open the [ Stock | List ] screen.
  2. Locate the user record you created.
  3. Green-select the required user or users.
  4. Right-click and select Print > Stock Bar Code Book.
  1. From the dropdown list, select Other Ref.
  2. Click OK.
A barcode will be generated using the value stored in the Other Ref field, allowing the user to scan their login credentials into the HHT.

Cleaning Up the Test System

Once you have printed the required barcodes, you may wish to remove the login credentials from your Test system.
To do this, run CopyLive2Test.

Additional Information

Using barcode-based logins can significantly speed up user authentication on HHT devices, particularly in busy warehouse environments. Creating and printing these barcodes from a Test system helps keep user credentials separate from live operational data while still providing an efficient login method for HHT users.
