How To: Remove Stock Items out of Quarantine

This article explains how to move stock from Quarantined back into Main stock on a non-warehouse system.
If stock has been quarantined for inspection, testing or quality control and is now ready to be sold or used, you can remove it from quarantine and return it to available stock.
Important: This process applies to non-warehouse systems only.For warehouse-enabled systems, see How To: Quarantine Stock from a Warehouse Stock Location, which also includes instructions for removing stock from quarantine.
Remove Stock from Quarantine
- Open a Stock screen (show me how).
- Load the stock item you want to remove from quarantine.
- Open the Other Actions menu by:
- Pressing F9, or
- Clicking the down arrow next to the green circle with a white cross icon on the toolbar.
- Select:
- Write Off/Quarantine
- Quarantine Stock Item
- Enter the quantity you want to remove from quarantine as a negative number.For example, to return four items to available stock, enter: -4
- Click OK.
- When prompted, click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the items from quarantine and return them to stock.
Result
The selected quantity will be moved from Quarantined stock back into Main stock and will once again be available for allocation, sale or use.
Additional Information
Note: Once the process is complete, the stock totals displayed in the lower-right corner of the Stock Properties screen will automatically update to reflect the change.
Tips
- Always check the quantity entered before confirming the adjustment.
- Quantities must be entered as a negative value when removing stock from quarantine.
- Review the updated stock totals after the adjustment to ensure the expected quantity has been returned to available stock.
