How To: Setup a Warehouse when using Sites
Table Of Contents
When using Warehouse Management with multiple sites, you must manually create specific warehouses and locations that Khaos Control uses for stock processing and returns.
Each site requires dedicated ARRIVALS and CRETURN warehouses, each containing a single multi-stock location with matching codes.
Required Warehouses
ARRIVALS Warehouse
Create an ARRIVALS warehouse for each site.
This warehouse must contain:
| Setting | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Warehouse Code | ARRIVALS |
| Location Type | Multi Stock |
| Location Code | ARRIVALS |
| Description | User-defined (for example, Arrivals Bay) |
Note: Instead of creating a separate ARRIVALS warehouse, you can create a location with the code ARRIVALS within your main warehouse. However, this may slow down loading times in the Perform Location Movements dialog when working with large warehouses.
CRETURN Warehouse
Create a CRETURN warehouse for each site.
This warehouse must contain:
| Setting | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Warehouse Code | CRETURN |
| Location Type | Multi Stock |
| Location Code | CRETURN |
| Description | User-defined (for example, Customer Return Bay) |
Important Notes
Warehouse Codes Must Match Exactly
The warehouse codes listed below are mandatory and must be entered exactly as shown:
- ARRIVALS
- CRETURN
Changing these codes may prevent warehouse processes from working correctly.
Location Codes Must Be Unique
Location codes must be unique across all sites.
If you use a standard aisle, bay and bin structure, consider prefixing location codes with a site identifier. For example:
| Site | Example Location Codes |
|---|---|
| Grantham | G-A01-B01, G-A01-B02 |
| Nottingham | N-A01-B01, N-A01-B02 |
This helps avoid duplicate location codes when managing multiple sites.
Picking Considerations
Using sites in conjunction with warehouse management can affect stock picking and stock allocation processes.

Summary
For each site, create:
- One ARRIVALS warehouse containing a single multi-stock location with the code ARRIVALS.
- One CRETURN warehouse containing a single multi-stock location with the code CRETURN.
Following this structure ensures that warehouse receipts, customer returns and stock movement processes function correctly across multiple sites.
