How To:Royal Mail Click And Drop Migrate From Dropbox To Desktop

Royal Mail Click and Drop is not enabled by default.

Please email Development for more information.
Note: there will be additional costs involved if this option is enabled.

Migrating from Royal Mail Click and Drop Dropbox to Royal Mail Click and Drop Desktop may require additional configuration in Khaos Control, as below:

  1. Go into [ System Data | Couriers / Shipping - Couriers ] and use right click > Configure... on the Click and Drop courier.
  2. Tick "Import from Subfolders".
  3. Modify the Output path if required, to match the Watch directory setting in the Click and Drop Desktop app. Alternatively, the Watch directory may be set to be the same as the Output path. The Output path is the folder to place exported shipments into, to be picked up by Royal Mail.
  4. If the Output path has changed, it is likely the Input path will need to change as well. The Input path is the folder to take the returned results files from. This is normally the Output path with '\Results' on the end, e.g.:
    Output path:
    K:\KeystoneSoftware\CourierExport\ClickAndDrop\
    Input path:
    K:\KeystoneSoftware\CourierExport\ClickAndDrop\Results
  5. Click OK.
  6. It is possible to copy to other Click and Drop courier lines, using the Copy From option at the top of the right click > Configure... dialog. This will copy all of the courier's settings, so in some cases making changes manually could be easier.

Notes:

  • Step 2 may not be necessary if the Desktop app is placing all files into the same folder.
  • In later versions of the Desktop app, there may be an option 'use legacy Dropbox compatibility mode.', which will attempt to replicate the file and folder structure of the Dropbox results. This option will only appear for some Royal Mail customers.
  • Royal Mail's instructions for using the Click and Drop Desktop app can be found here How To Import Orders with Click and Drop Desktop
