The pick and replenishment hierarchy is linked to Stock Location Type [TType] and is the same when using Handheld Terminals (HHTs).

Picking and GRN Put Away

When standard Picking reports are enabled or the customer has selected the context menu option Repick (Auto) from Sales Invoice Manager, the system will pick for the relevant stock location in the order of the stock location type as stated below. This is also the location priority that will be applied when booking in goods on a GRN note:

  1. Picking (Primary)
  2. Picking (Secondary)
  3. Picking (Bulk)
  4. Put Away (Bulk)
  5. No auto-pick

The system will never automatically pick from a No auto-pick location, but it can be selected manually. If two stock locations have the same item present with stock and the same picking priority then the name of the location will determine which one is picked from first. (i.e. location A will be picked first over location B when the same stock item is available in both.)

Replenishment

When running a replenishment report the system will suggest a location that contains stock that can be used to replenish another location. The system will replenish in the following hierarchy:

  1. No auto pick
  2. Put Away (Bulk)
  3. Picking (Bulk)
  4. Picking (Secondary)
  5. Picking (Primary)

Please note the following rules:

  1. If all stock locations have the same type, e.g. Picking (Primary), then all locations that a specific item occupies will be suggested as a replenishment location. This report will never be fulfilled, e.g. as soon as you replenish location A with with stock from location B the report will then suggest to replenish location B with location A.
  2. Stock will be replenished from the highest i.e. No auto-pick or Put Away (Bulk). This report will only suggest the highest replenish location, so if stock item 100 has a primary, secondary and bulk pick location then only the bulk pick will be suggested to fulfil the primary and secondary. The secondary location will only be suggested as a replenishment location if the bulk location is completely depleted. This functionality stops creeping stock.
  3. 'No auto-pick' stock location type will behave as the highest replenishment priority when the Exclude No Auto Pick Locations checkbox is UNTICKED in [ Warehouse | Replenishment ].
  4. The Replenishment Report does not take into account multi-stock locations where more than one item is populating the location.
