Quotation Reasons

Introduction

Quotation Reasons help you record why a quotation was not successfully converted into a sales order. Capturing this information can provide valuable insight into lost sales opportunities and help identify trends such as pricing issues, competitor activity, or customer service concerns.
Quotation Reasons can be selected when reviewing quotations in CRM or when marking quotations as unsuccessful from the Customer Service area.

Where Quotation Reasons Are Used

You can select a Quotation Reason in the following areas:

CRM Manager Quotes (Opportunities)

Use the Reason column (F4 lookup) within the [ CRM Manager | Quotes (Opportunities) ] screen.

Marking Quotations as Unsuccessful

When using Mark Quote(s) As Unsuccessful from the Context Menu within the [ Customer | Customer Service | Sales Orders / Invoices ] screen, you can select a value from the Reason quote was unsuccessful? drop-down list.
Note: Quotations must be green-selected before the Mark Quote(s) As Unsuccessful option becomes available.

Quotation Reasons Grid

The Quotation Reasons grid contains the following field:

Description

Enter a clear description explaining why the quotation was unsuccessful.
Examples include:
  • Competitor price match
  • Too expensive
  • Unhelpful salesperson
  • Customer cancelled project
  • Product not suitable
Using meaningful descriptions helps improve reporting and analysis of lost quotation opportunities.

Quotation Reasons Context Menu

The Context Menu contains the following options:

Apply Value Range

Use Apply Value Range to apply the same value to all currently selected rows within the active column.

Clear Selection

Removes the selection from the currently highlighted row or rows.

Recording quotation outcomes consistently allows your business to:
  • Identify common reasons for lost quotations.
  • Monitor competitor activity.
  • Review pricing trends.
  • Improve sales processes and customer service.
  • Produce more meaningful management reports.
