Task Types
Introduction
Task Types are used to categorise CRM tasks throughout Khaos Control. They help users organise, filter and report on tasks more effectively by assigning a meaningful category to each activity.
Common examples of task types include:
- Customer Service
- Sales
- Housekeeping
- Administration
- Follow-Up
Once created, Task Types can be selected when creating or viewing tasks in several areas of the system.
Where Task Types Are Used
Task Types are available in the following areas:
CRM Manager | Tasks
In the CRM Manager | Tasks screen:
- The Type column uses an F4 lookup to select a task type.
- The Type filter can be used to view tasks belonging to a specific category.

When creating a task using Schedule Task from the context menu in the CRM Manager | Comm Log (Leads) screen:
- The Task Type drop-down allows you to assign a category to the task.
Customer / Supplier CRM Tasks
In the Customer / Supplier | Detail | CRM | Tasks screen:
- The Type column displays the task type assigned to each task.

When creating a task using the New Task / Action button in the Customer | Detail | CRM | Communication Log screen:
- The Task Type drop-down allows you to select the appropriate task category.
Task Types Grid
The Task Types grid contains the following field:
Description
- Description
Enter the name of the task type. This is the value that users will see when selecting a task type throughout the system.
Context Menu Options
The Task Types screen includes the following context menu options:
Apply Value Range
Allows you to apply the same value to all currently selected rows within the active column.
Clear Selection
Removes the current row selection from the grid.

Using Task Types consistently can improve task management and reporting by making it easier to group related activities, filter task lists and monitor workload across different areas of the business. Choose clear and meaningful descriptions so that all users can quickly identify the purpose of each task
