Quarantining stock allows you to remove items from available stock while they are inspected, tested, or awaiting a decision on their future use. Quarantined items remain recorded in Khaos Control but cannot be used as available stock.

Before You Start

If you are using Advanced Warehouse Control, follow the instructions in How To: Quarantine Stock from a Warehouse Stock Location.
The steps below apply to standard stock control environments.

Manually Quarantine Stock

  1. Open a Stock screen (show me how).
  2. Load the stock item you want to quarantine.
  3. Press F9, or click the drop-down arrow next to the Other Actions button.
  4. Select:
    • Write Off/Quarantine
    • Quarantine Stock Item
  5. Enter the quantity you want to move into quarantine.
  6. Click OK.
The stock totals shown in the bottom-right corner of the Stock Properties screen will update to reflect the change.

What Happens Next?

Once the stock has been quarantined:
  • The selected quantity is moved out of available stock.
  • The stock item remains on the system for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Stock totals are updated immediately.
