Creating an EPOS User

An EPOS user is used to process sales through the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system. Before a user can log into EPOS, you must create the user account and assign the appropriate permissions.

Create the EPOS User

  1. Open a System Data screen (show me how).
  2. Double-click [ Others | Users ].
  3. Press Alt+E or click Edit to enter edit mode.
  4. Press F3 or click Add to create a new user.
  5. Enter the following information:
  6. Press Ctrl+S or click Save.
The EPOS user has now been created.

Configure User Permissions

Once the user has been created, assign the permissions required for EPOS operation.
  1. Select the EPOS user in the Users list.
  2. Right-click and select User Permissions.
  3. Configure the following permissions as required.

Supplier Permissions

Enable the following permission:
PermissionSetting
Open✅ Ticked

System Permissions

Enable the following permission:
PermissionSetting
No Auto-Logoff✅ Ticked
The No Auto-Logoff permission prevents the user from being automatically logged out due to inactivity, which is particularly useful for EPOS tills and shared retail workstations.
  1. Click OK to save the permissions.

Additional Information

  • Each EPOS user should be assigned the appropriate Sales Source for reporting purposes.
  • EPOS users are commonly configured with the No Auto-Logoff permission to ensure tills remain available throughout the trading day.
  • Additional permissions can be assigned as required based on your business processes and security requirements.
