How To: Create a Pack

There are two steps to creating a Move With (Pack) stock item; creating the parent item and then adding the child item.

Creating a new Pack Parent Stock Item

  1. Open a Stock screen (show me how).
  2. Press Ctrl+N or click the New item icon is the button bar's NEW button .
  3. Define the parent item (stock code, description, pricing and stock types).
  4. Untick Stock Controlled in the [ Stock | Detail | options ] screen.
    Note: Move With parents cannot be stock controlled items.
  5. Click 'Yes' to the 'Are you SURE...' dialog box. Khaos Control then saves the stock item.

Adding Pack Child Items

  1. Open the [ Stock | Detail | Relationships ] tab.
  2. Press Alt+E or click the green triangle icon is the buttonbar's EDIT button to enter edit mode.
  3. Set the Relationship Type to 'Move with' from the drop down box.
  4. Use the PackBuildAdd1.jpg to add stock items to the pack (the Stock dialog box will appear to make selections from).
    1. Enter the quantity of the selected item that you wish to added to the pack.
    2. Click on OK to close the Quantity popup.
    3. Repeat this procedure to add all items you wish to be included in the pack.
  5. Press Ctrl+S or click the disk icon is the button bar's SAVE button to save.
  6. Click the Auto set value proportion button. and the value proportion for each item in the pack will be displayed in grid.
  7. In the Warning message click Yes if you're sure that the child items all have a stock value.
  8. If you wish to update the order in which the child items are displayed:
    1. Click on the Stock Relationships Auto Sort button button.
    2. Focus on the child item.
    3. Press either the the MOVE ROW UP button shows a green arrow pointing upwards. and the MOVE ROW DOWN button shows a green arrow pointing downwards. to move the child item up or down the list as required.

Notes:

  1. Nested Build relationships are supported.
  2. Nested Move With/Pack/Bundle relationships are NOT supported
  3. Average and postal weights of the pack child items are combined to give a total weight against the pack header for shipping and courier purposes. Any weights added in the pack header stock record will also be included.
  4. The dimensions of the pack children are NOT combined and should be added separately in the pack header stock record
