WARNING icon
WARNING: Auditing the system is an Advanced User feature and requires Audit Permission ticked in User Permissions.

If you wish to view the changes that have occurred in a nominal account, for example if there are differences between the start and end of a month, then you can use the Audit for Nominal Journals dialog.

  1. Open an Accounts screen (show me how).
  2. Press F9 or clicking the down arrow immediately to the right of the to open the 'Other Actions' menu.
  3. Select Audit -> Audit Trail for Journals.
  4. Select the nominal account from the drop down.
  5. Set the filter on date posted to
  6. Set the audit date, if the audit date is after the post date, this will then show you all NEW postings which effectively were posted backwards. This can then be exported using Send to Notepad.

This can be repeated for each nominal so you will see all the totals for the new postings and be able to add/ subtract them from their written snapshot figures.

Note: there are two columns that can be added to the grid that would be useful in the above scenario, these can see un-hidden, see How To: Un-hide Columns in a Grid:

  • Post Date: the date when the transaction was physically posted
  • Post Time: the time when the transaction was physically posted
